"45" — Celebrating the 45th Anniversary (1962–2006)

Celebrating the 45th Anniversary
of the Houston Colt .45s
(1962–2006)

Bat used by Nellie Fox  45 summers before Houston could fly the
National League pennant...

45 years since the birth of the Colt .45s...

“Hot ziggity dog and good ol’ sassafras tea!”

  Here come the Colts!

1962 Colt .45s Yearbook The Texas Baseball Hall of Fame along with Cranks Rooters & Fans are bringing back those first days of big league ball in the Bayou City, and we invite you to join in the fun!

Come meet Houston’s original big leaguers. Relive the time when The Toy Cannon would launch balls high into the Texas sky. Reminisce with Aspro, the coolest cat in town. Listen again to radio memories as Loel describes how Turk “breezed him one more time.” Visit with Gene Elston, who this summer will be honored by Cooperstown with the Ford Frick Award.

Ceremonial Colt .45 revolver from Gene Elston's traveling uniformBoot & Hat from Gene Elston's traveling uniform Beginning July 20th and through the balance of the summer we’ll have a terrific display of memorabilia, uniforms, and artifacts from those early seasons in Colt Stadium. The exhibit will feature a huge assemblage of the finest items from Colts players, team officials, and the best private baseball collections in the city!

Have you ever seen a player wear a western cut traveling road outfit, complete with boots, Stetson, and a chrome-plated revolver? Now you can!

Glove used by Bob Aspromonte And on August 5th we’d like you to join us in an open house where you can mingle with some of the original Colt .45s players and team associates. We’ll have hot dogs and soft drinks, and you’ll even have a chance at winning a nifty door prize.

Come join us and be a part of it all over again. It’s an event hotter than a Houston summer!

“Now you’re chunkin’ in there!”
