It has taken a while to get here, but we are happy to welcome you to the new Internet home of the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame! We still have a lot of content to add, so be sure to visit us often to see what's new.
Before I give you a brief tour of the site,
with deference to Yogi, I
want to take a moment to thank everyone who made this day
necessary. We have a very dedicated group of people who volunteer
their time to make the TBHOF the kind of organization that we can
all be proud to support. Without them, there would be no
Website... and no TBHOF! Visit the About
Us section for more information about our staff and Board of
Directors. We will be expanding this section significantly in the
near future.
It takes the contribution of so many people to
make this site a reality, but there is one person in particular I
have to mention—Debb Harris.
She is responsible for all the graphics and so much of the
creativity that went into the site. Amazingly enough, she is an
Astros fan who lives in the United Kingdom! I don't even want to
think about where we would be without her. Visit her link at the
bottom of any page to see more examples of Debb's work.
On our home page you will find news and feature
articles written by the TBHOF staff and various guest authors. We
have some surprises in store, and you'll never know who you might
see writing for the www.tbhof.org
site. Just so you know, you can also access the site by going to www.TexasBaseballHallOfFame.org
which is longer but is easier to understand when you hear it over
the phone or radio.
Our Inductees
section is a work in progress. We are planning to have complete
biographies for all TBHOF inductees from 1978 to the present.
In the Museum
section, you will find news about our plans for the Texas Baseball
Hall of Fame museum project, and ways that you can help us reach
our goal. We are also planning to have photos of our artifacts,
and perhaps a virtual museum.
The TBHOF Store
is where you will find merchandise and other collectibles for
sale. We have giclée prints of the artwork created by artist Opie
Otterstad for our 2004 inductee class. Currently we are using the
PayPal system, which should be a painless way for folks to use
their credit cards.
The Banquet
area has information about our 2005 induction banquet, and will
soon include photos and details about previous banquet. Priority
ticket sales will begin in July, so stay tuned for more news.
We will be adding some useful Links
in the near future to baseball sites, museums, and other folks who
have been very helpful to us.
Please feel free to use the Contact
Us link if you have any questions or comments about the TBHOF.
We want to hear from you.
There are some other special areas that we will
be introducing soon. The Lone Star League (a.k.a. www.LoneStarLeague.org)
is the future home of our TBHOF supporter program. Through the Lone
Star Round-Up fans and supporters will be able to contribute
to the TBHOF, donate artifacts, or become a volunteer. The Knot
Hole Gang (a.k.a. www.KnotHoleGang.org)
will be a place for the next generation of baseball fans to learn
about the heroes of yesteryear.
Thanks for stopping by!
